I’m Heather, a recovering workaholic who left my longtime career in IT to take up homemaking here in Idaho. I am a wife to Derrick, my best friend and the love of my life for 15 years and husband for 13. I am mom to two wonderful boys Aidan (10) and Noah (8) who have curious minds and beautiful hearts. I love nature, reading, a good cup of coffee, writing out my thoughts, a good meal, and exploring new places.
After leaving work in early 2020 to be home with my boys, the world came to a screeching halt with COVID-19. We finished my older son’s 2nd grade year online, and in the next year when that was the only option, I knew it wasn’t going to work well for my kids. So, in the academic year of 20/21 we began our first year of homeschool and quickly fell in love with it. We chose to continue into the next year, and are still doing so today.
Sitting here in 2022 I’m incredibly grateful for the path that led me where I am. Our family has blossomed in many ways over the last several years, and I have found new passions I never thought I’d explore. Now here I am again, trying something new in bringing this little part of our life out into the open to share. My intent in writing to you is that you will find encouragement to live your one beautiful life with a sense of curiosity, adventure, an openness to new things, and to connect with those around you. I have long believed that what I had to say didn’t matter, but I realized over time that this voice (used or unused) is what I have, and I want to use it for uplifting those around me. In an interconnected world, we are so lucky to share this opportunity for community.
